Chicago Beaches, beautiful, and fun!

Chicago Beaches the perfect place to relax on a Chicago vacation! You have a number of beaches to choose from depending on what you want your experience to be.

I personally love North beach Lots of fun in the sun, people watching, athlete watching, it’s just an all-around good time. But this may not be your choice so take a look below to find the perfect fit for you.

North Beach

If you go to the beach to see athletes, or to get your work out in then this is your beach. You can enjoy sand volleyball, including tournaments, and work out on the beach with the beach gym. This is definitely a popular beach, some even classify it as Chicago’s premier Beach, I’d recommend taking public transportation to this beach especially to avoid traffic and parking.

If you’re in Chicago for the Air and Water Show this is a great Chicago beach to see that from.

Oak street beach

Oak street beach, for those of us who just want to people-watch or hang out with kids this is a great beach for that. Bring a cooler and enjoy the day or afternoon, soak up some sun and relax. It’s just perfect.

Loyola Leone Beach

this beach is Huge, it’s actually eight-city block long! You can enjoy anything from baseball fields, basketball courts, and more. So if you didn’t find what you wanted on North Beach, and you’re the athletic type then you just might find it here. Strap on some blades and enjoy the long beachfront. Once you’re done, you probably worked up an appetite so check out the Heartland Concession and get some energy back.

Dog Beaches

If you love to take your pooch with you, then be sure to check out Belmont Harbor, a beach which welcomes you and your buddy, this is also where you’ll find a great Yacht Club also.

Wilson Ave Montrose Avenue Beach: the beach for those who like to kayak, canoes and use other boats without a motor. This is also a dog beach with a fence to keep them safe. Chicago Park District
